Welcome to Cornerstone Healthcare. We are based at Bentham Road Health Centre, Mill Hill and serve the whole of South West Blackburn.

Cornerstone Healthcare is more than just a GP surgery. We are a Community Interest Company, which means that any profits made are ploughed back into serving the local community. Our patients can even become free members of our company so that they can help decide how our services should run and develop.

Over the next few years we will continue to expand; with more doctors and nurses, more appointments and larger premises, the services we are able to offer will continue to expand, meaning our patients get the most convenient and best of care.

The Doctors

Dr Adam Black

MB ChB MRCGP (Glasgow 1999) GMC No: 4622273 is the Lead GP for Bentham Road Health Centre. He has a real desire to see the health of the whole population improve, as well as people being well looked after. He wants to see this new General Practice succeed in making a difference to people in this area.

Dr Naomi Chadwick

MB ChB MRCGP (Sheffield 2003) GMC No: 6080392 will be a full time GP at Bentham Road from September 2011. Dr Chadwick has already worked with us on a number of occasions and is getting to know our patients well.

Our Practice Nurse, Christine Yates can advise on asthma, diabetes, heart disease, weight loss and other lifestyle issues. She also does vaccinations, smears and blood tests.

Brandi Lim has recently begun work at Bentham Road as a Health Care Assistant, having worked in reception previously. She will be able to carry out blood tests, blood pressure checks and other health care needs.

Katie Stanton has day-to-day responsibility for the smooth running of Bentham Road Health Centre. She will be able to help you with any queries you have about administrative or non-clinical aspects of your care. She will be please to receive any suggestions about how we may improve our services.

Other receptionists include Gill Chapman, Natasha Blows, Gail Robinson, Christine Hunt, Ben Gabb and Trudi Jenkinson. Jill Cross is our medical secretary.

Also working from the Health Centre from time to time are Community Drug and Alcohol Workers, Health Trainers, Diabetic Nurses and Counsellors. We also have a dedicated Smoking Cessation specialist here most Saturday mornings. If you would like to access this service, please speak to a member of staff.

New Patients

We accept anyone who lives in our practice area as new patients. You can register by completing a registration form which can be obtained from the practice. When you register, we will ask you to make an appointment to see either the practice nurse or healthcare assistant for a new patient health check. This will make sure that our records are accurate and all routine checks to promote your health and wellbeing (such as blood pressure/smear tests/mammograms) are up-to-date.
