Training

The practice is privileged to have been recognised as a Training Practice since 1994. We train GPs, Foundation Year Two Doctors (Doctors in the second year after qualifying), medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, health care assistants, along with training for all administrative and support staff. We have 3 accredited GP trainers, plus 3 accredited Foundation Year Two or Medical Student Trainers in the practice as a whole.

The whole practice is involved in training and has a genuine desire to see the learner well supported and to thoroughly enjoy themselves. There’s the usual library, there’s a seminar room and there’s a dedicated room for the GP Registrars.
The practice is fully computerised and has full NHSnet and Internet access. There is ready access to electronic information on the Practice Computer (EMIS) System.

We maintain full electronic records with a high standard of information. We have been using a computerised system since the 1980’s and have been “paper light” since 1994.

Dr Prout at Rhyddings Surgery, Oswaldtwistle has been a Trainer since 2003.
